Sequencee learnt that he had passed out for a few hours. No major repercussions were seen, though Anna couldn’t help but worry.
As such, she had denied Sequencee the privilege of inserting the second tuner, not until he grew older.
That said, the first activation alone had provided Sequencee with immense power. The spear not only had the ability to cut through mythril, it was also an excellent conductor of magic. He could use it as a catalyst to ease spell casting, much like a mixer for music.
That said, the spear had other capabilities which were sealed behind the second tuner. A storage unit for mana, which for now, only sapped at Sequencee’s mana whenever he had excess, custom spells which enhanced the user during battle, and the ability to morph its shape. Basically, functions that require the use of mana were locked. For now Sequencee only had the basics specs.
All of it was detailed in the note which had come together in the case.
“I seriously want to unseal the second layer already..” Sequencee complained.
“Then you’ve got to practice mana control. See, it’s detailed here that normal humans would die if they used it.”
“What? They would die?”
“It’s built custom for you, no one else can have it. Quite an amazing craftsman he found, fufu,” Anna grinned.
‘Then I almost died..? No, I’m a half demon, maybe that’s why..’
Sequencee pondered deeply about how he could accelerate the process. If he wanted to reach a level where he can safely wield the black dragon spear, he had to improve his mana control and overall mana volume.
His eyes followed a purple floating bead which just came before him.
“Ah! That’s it!”
From then on, he who normally limited himself to twelve elemental beads at one time, slowly began expanding his repertoire. Rare elements like celestial magic, holy magic, ash magic, air magic, or any other magic he couldn’t quite use become something he kept floating around him, even if said element wasn’t something he could practically use in battles.
Soon enough, it had become a habit of his to keep fifty beads floating around him, and most recently, at the age of 17..
Mercilessly, a command left his mouth
– Devour.
The spear burned up in flames, morphing into the shape of a dragon’s maw.
A low roar reverberated in the hearts of those in his surroundings. A wave of lilac fire channeled forth, completely engulfing the knights.
A desolate world of flames, the world like up like the nightmare of the last era–
The same one which had destroyed his home three years ago.
‘Why?’
It couldn’t be a coincidence, could it? These purple flames.. they resembled the very ones that took everything from him.
‘This weapon..’
Watching the knights die without as much of a chance to put up any resistance, Sequencee was witnessing first hand the destruction this weapon he had inside him could create–
‘.. is really from the last era..’
It was a weapon built to kill, a weapon built for war.
Left of the field were cinders and molten metal. The smell of burning flesh filled the air, not even blood was left of the scene. The surviving knights made an encirclement around Sequencee, but had no courage to act.
Sequencee had just a chunk of their troops– around a hundred with one fusion magic.
Did his act of self defense justify ending the lives of these people?
Sequencee glanced at his spear, then at the field charred black. Not even blood was left of the corpses.
‘Ah.. right..’

This feeling.. how should he describe it?
The indifference to the death of those that fell by his hands, the lack of any sort of guilt whatsoever. Wasn’t he just like the black knight? Killing the lives of innocent people for some selfish purpose?
It wasn’t a matter of intent, rather– if one possessed such a strength, a destruction of this level was inevitable.
Sequencee complained for a lack of strength all the while..
But now if he had this and went up against Risa or Shiro.. he had the confidence to say that he could come out on top.
But was strength truly the path to peace? What was he doing?
“Haha..” Sean stood before him. His eyes were no longer kind. A killing intent replacing his shady aura. “HAHAHAHAHAHA!!”
He plucked the white necklace which was around his neck and flicked it once.
From it appeared a black halberd, with a design just as sinister as the black dragon spear.
He held it in a specific stance with the sharp edge pointing to the ground.
“You demon!!”
Demon..
[Unique Magic: Xerox]
Xerox– a term for multiplication. It wasn’t just himself that he could make copies of, but also objects or energy. With it at tier three, there were many things he could do.
He advanced.
Enchanting his weapon with antimagic, a single strike of his halberd copied a hundred times, an energy which caused space to rupture, a dynamite at the tip of the spearhead.
The bubble barrier was pierced through in an instant.
Sequencee created a second barrier of wind which deflected the trajectory of the strike.
An ice prison rose from the ground to restrain Sean’s halberd in place. However, another cloned attack came swinging from his flank.
Sequencee twisted his body and raised his black dragon spear.
[Unique Magic: Xerox]
A loud crash resounded as Sean continued with cloned attacks that came from unguarded directions. As if he had multiple hands and halberd, he could attack omnidirectionally, and all at once.
Due to lack of practice of the spear, Sequencee struggled to keep up with his assault. Multiple wounds were inflicted on his body. And from where the blood spurted, lilac flame alighted, his wounds healed at an unbelievable rate.
Yet despite it all, the weapon trait was making Sequencee almost invulnerable. Killing Sean would be easy if he chose to.
‘No–’
He commanded the ground to rise into a giant pillar of flames which surrounded himself.
[Activated Trait: Blade Pulse]
[Unique Magic: Xerox]
Sean swung his halberd against the weirdly solid flames. One, twice– he stacked his swing a hundred times and hit it again. The sounds of a loud crashing reverberated in his ear, the halberd got stuck midway into the flame pillars.
“What..”
The spear blade began to glow bright red from the heat, the shaft he held growing hotter and hotter.
“To hell with you.”
Sequencee stabbed the dragon spear through the flame walls and..
It exploded outwards.
“AAHH!!!”
Sean’s scream. The flames coiled around his spear and stabbed into his arm.
“AHHHH?! WHat iS THI!S?!”
The flames turned into serpents. They opened their jaws and..
Ate into his flesh.
He gave an apathetic glance at Sean who was still trying to put out the flames. Unfortunately for him, unless Sequencee commanded so, the flames would continue to eat. For now at least, Sequencee had adjusted it so that it burned him gradually. He would experience a long lasting agony instead of transforming into a burning corpse.
It was a form of revenge– for Leticia.
An incredible sense of fatigue began to creep in as Sequencee’s vision flickered. Perhaps he had lost a lot of blood in the fight.
The knights’ order quickly formed themselves into a shield to protect their commander.
Sequencee brandished his spear, about to move in when–
“Reese express here!”
His vision tilted to the side, gobbled up by darkness.
‘Why couldn’t she have come earlier..’
===
Heaving, the flame now gone–
But left of him was a completely broken left arm and profusely bleeding right arm.
“Commander!”
“Leanne, how should we.. oh, that’s right, you’re no longer in the world,” Sean looked at the blackened field.
The knights all were agitated; their wish to avenge their comrades burned within them.
Sean smashed his already broken fist into the ground.
“Commander! Stop it!” one of the knights yelled.
“Healer!! Someone call the priest!”
“Begin a complete lock down of the region and tighten all security. Everyone is to perform a complete search of the region and bring them back!”
