381. WHERE WE LEFT OFF

A beautiful night sky, the white moon in full bloom. Snow was falling, waves crashing onto shore, bringing pieces of ice along with it.

“Noel.. wake up,” Liliath pulled his cheeks. “Wake up.. Noel.. I can’t live like this..”

I made my way to her.

“It’s alright Liliath.”

I embraced her.

“This is a dream.. wake me up from this, please,” She cried.

“You did nothing wrong.”

“Wake up, me.. wake up..”

“Liliath, this isn’t a dream.”

“Wake up..”

“Hello?” Noel, can’t you read the mood?

See, it’s fine..

Noel is alive. I stroked her head.

“What should we do again? We have to do something right?” Noel asked again.
“I believe I was killed by this me last time.” I’m sure that’s what happened. It feels like it happened so long ago though.

“Let’s not move out of script then,”

“Liliath, send my regards to the past me alright?” I leaned in and whispered into her ears. “Take care of Noel alright?”

I drove a stake into her heart, a weapon which Bleu said was what I used to kill my past self.

“Enjoy your trip.”

Blood poured from her mouth. I placed her down gently.

“There.. done.”

I staggered, Noel supported me.

Tears filled my eyes.

The corpses of the past me and the past Noel– they began to glow.

All those memories we’ve created. The people we met. This experience..

It’s over.

Joy and sorrow.

Pain and happiness.

I’m here, I’m alive.

I’ve finally become real.

“It’s alright Liliath.. you can cry.. I’m here..”

An indescribable mix of deep emotions welled up in me.

This feeling.

It’s like.. that sentimental feeling when you reach the end of a story, except worse.

Much, much worse.

I’m so glad to be back.

But I’m so sad that it’s over.

I miss everyone, everything.

My corpse and Noel’s corpse dispersed into gold particles.. sent to the other world.

I took towards the sand, ice cold waves soaked my feet.

Leaning out–
I shouted towards the sea.

These feelings that can’t be put into words.

===

The orange lights interspersed around the lodging grounds, lining the paths that lead across the different amenities of the lodgings. Silhouettes of bare trees, snow that continued to pile.

Prune walked towards her lodging, the place was as she remembered. A bitter pang could be felt in her heart.

Just as she reached the stairs, she stopped.

Yes, this was exactly where they met.

“Huh?” Her past self yelped in befuddlement.

“Um.. nice to meet you again?” Not knowing if her words made sense, Prune pulled back her hood, revealing her gorgeous silver-gold hair.

“You are.. me?”

“It’s been a while. No, perhaps it’s the first time we’ve met? I wonder what I should say to you before.. um.. maybe I shouldn’t say too much but..”

Bleu warned them not to interact too much with one another, in case they mess up the script. One wrong word and it could spell the destruction of the entire time loop.

Prune brought up her system function.

There were many ways which Bleu had prepared for them to kill their other self, one of which was an instant death button.

With a bitter smile on her face–

“Take care of Noel and Liliath alright?”

Prune tapped on the button and her past self scattered into gold dust.

The instant death button disappeared, all system functions vanished.

Right. Now.. Prune was merely a human. No longer was she a Nine Tail or some fantasy character with cheat skills.

It would be a while before she gets used to her old way of life.

Wiping the tears from her eyes, she took her first step up the stairs. How long.. had it been.

So long.. it’s been so long.

Slowly, each step.

She came in front of her room, no. Their shared room.

She knocked.

“You’re back already? That’s fas..”

“Saria.”

“P-Prune?”
“It’s been.. a while.”
Saria stared at Prune blankly, watching as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“Editing is hard work. I guess I’ll work on it tomorrow,” the old Nine muttered before deciding to call it a day.

While staring at the shutting down process, she went closer to the heater in the room and sat there with her face pressed against her knees. She stifled a yawn.

The old Nine made sure not to lean in too much. She wouldn’t want to burn her back due to the heater source. It’s a surprise how this cabin-like room still uses such a thing. Isn’t there supposed to be like a two-way air-conditioner thing in the market now? Noel’s apartment had such a thing.

Shaking her head, she got back up on her feet and folded the laptop. Afterwards, stuffing it back inside her duffle bag.

“Sleep.. sleep..”

Old Nine muttered and made her way to the bathroom.

Raising her skirt and pulling down her panties, she sat down on the toilet bowl.

An obscene sound resounded, on cue.

“Yo.”

Was this where they met?

“Hm?” still in a daze, old Nine’s turned to the voice.

“Hehe. I’ll never forget this.”

Yes, this is where they met. There was no way Nine could forget such an embarrassing moment. Everything fit in perfectly, Nine felt as if he didn’t need to worry about moving out of script.

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE Y– !!!!!”

“Shh… you’re going to attract a bunch of attention..” Nine pressed his hands on her lips.

“Pe-rt”

Her face turned beet red, now that the sounds of water had stopped.

“Hehe, you’re not alone. I also got to experience something like this last time. Well.. in any case,” Nine removed his hands.

“Who are you.. and get out! YOU PERVERT!”

“Well, it’s not like I’ve never seen my own ‘that’ part. If anything, I’ve seen it more times than you,” Nine responded to her– his past self with a shrug.

“What the fuck..”

“Welp. You’ll understand what’s going on soon enough. Good luck me, go become the best assassin in the world.”

Nine who was wearing special gloves chopped down on his past self and she fainted. Soon, she scattered into particles of light.

“Wow.. that’s cool..”

The special gloves disappeared alongside his past.

“Haha..”

This was it. The beginning of her adventure, the end of his.

[DATA HAS BEEN KEPT]

A pendrive appeared in the air.

“Oh, it’s just as Bleu said.”

All that data, image files and video will be retrievable. Nine was about to reach out to grab it– when it just dropped.

And fell into the toilet bowl.

“Fuck.”

You reap what you sow.

382.

Wake panicked.

He was student with the TALENT to locate anyone he touches. Previously, Noel had told him and Miss Glib in regards to turning himself into a demon lord.

The plan was to consult with Liliath about the surgery to insert the Philosopher’s stone into his body.

However.. their marker just disappeared.
He ran down the broadway– gazing out towards the beach. There was no one there.

“What’s going on..”
Why had Noel and Liliath suddenly disappeared..

“Prune and Nine too?” Wake’s eyes shot wide open.

Something was wrong..

He took out his phone and dialed Miss Glib’s number.

Doot. Doot.

His heart was beating fast.

“Please be fine.. please be fine..”

“This is Miss Glib speaking”

“Miss Glib, Wake here. Noel and Liliath.. has gone missing.”
“Excuse me, could you repeat?”

“Noel, Liliath, Prune and Nine from class 1C have gone missing.”

“Please hold the line, where are you currently? Tell me the full story,” the sounds of intense shuffling could be heard in the background.

“I’m at the beach, Noel said he wanted to discuss with Lilliath about the operation..”

Noel said he might take chances and have Liliath insert the Philosopher's stone directly into him.

What if..

“W-What do we do now?”

“You said Prune, and the other student, Class 1C also disappeared.”

“Yes Miss.”

“I’m on my way, meet me at the main square.”

The call wasn’t cut, Wake burned his mind and thought up the numerous possibilities. How was Nine and Prune’s disappearance related?

Right, check their phones.

Wake walked to the main square, dialing Noel’s number.

Nothing.

He tried Liliath’s.. then Prune’s.

A hit.

“H-Hello?”
“Who is this speaking?”

“This is.. Prune.”

“Prune? Did something happen?”
Her voice sounded off..

“Is that why you called? Yes, something did happen.”

“Meet me down at the main square. Noel and liliath has gone missing.”

“Gone.. missing? How do you know?”
“My TALENT.”

“Then did I go missing too?”
“You were cut off from my TALENT effect..”
“Oh, Then don’t panic, they just returned. I’ll let them know.”
“Returned?”

Before an explanation could be established, Prune cut the call.

“What the..”

Wake made his way to the main square. He could the smell of charcoal from the remnants of the bonfire from previous nights.

“Huh?”
And there was Miss Glib with.. Noel and Liliath? What’s up with their clothes?!

===

“Noel. We need to get Rin back,” Liliath said, still sniffling.

“Yeah.. at least..”

Unknown said he would do something about Rin’s transfer. I can only hope that Bleu remembers to adjust the flow of time in the other world to the correct scale.
“Don’t you feel sad?” Liliath nudged me.

“I do.”
I feel very sentimental actually.

“I believe you..” Liliath held onto the pendrive tightly.

Our experiences and proof of our adventure. The time we spent in the world, our memories, it’s all in here.

“Everything looks so unfamiliar now. Where do we need to go anyways?” Liliath said.

“I don’t know either.”
Passing through the forest path, we somehow reached this area of the lodging where the breakfast spot was.

“I think our rooms were supposed to be behind this?”

It was dark, but I could see fine.

“The bonfire. Maybe we’ll camp out there until morning.”

“Good point. We’ll meet up again with Prune and Nine after that.”
“I hope we didn’t end up in the wrong world.”

“Don’t jinx it.”
“Trying to..” Liliath went ‘eh’..

I pulled up my system.

Most of the functions had disappeared. The only ones left are the quest boards and shop. The status windows and chat function are gone.

Oh right.. how long has it been since I last used the chibi function?

“Hey look, it’s Miss Glib!” Liliath waved.

“Oh, it is.”
“Noel! Liliath!”

Miss Glib was wearing her night clothes, she looked really panicked. Did something happen?

“Good evening Miss. It has been a while.. right?”

“What.. happened to you two..” her expression contorted.

“We went journeying in another world,” Liliath bobbed her head.

“How.. please explain.”
“So it begins like this..”
Midway through our explanation, Wake came up to us and interrupted.

“W-Why are you here? What’s with your clothes?”
“Oh, it’s good to see you again Wake,” Liliath greeted with a smile.

“Wake, calm down. Listen to their story first,” Miss Glib prodded.

“Alright..”
“Do you want some tea? We can.. oh, the function is gone.” Liliath said in disappointment.

Yeah. The inventory functions went poof. All the items inside also went poof.

Huh? The forget me not pendant has also disappeared.

We resumed our explanation, Miss Glib and Wake nodded intently. They probably had trouble believing so we’ll have to show them the files inside the pen drives.

“Yo.”
“Good evening.”

Prune and Nine.

“Your hair..”

“Things happened.. I didn’t dye it, it’s a natural colour.” Prune grabbed a tiff of her hair and rubbed it between her fingers.
“It’s the truth, she had to kiss a girl for that.”
“You want to die?”

“Try me.”

“You’re so bothersome.”

“So the two of you were also affected by Noel’s TALENT,” Miss Glib asked, objectively.

“You could say that.”
“Yes.”
“Here’s proof,” Nine took out his pendrive. It’s got the same design as ours.

“Mine’s here too.”

“Then we only have one?” Liliath looked at our pendrive.

“I suppose so.”

Looks like we share one.
“Whatever, you’re mine anyways.”

“I take it that all of you are fine, correct?”
“Yes, we just came back.”
Miss Glib nodded.

“Meet me again tomorrow. I need to talk to you four, get some rest first.”

“Alright.”
“Will do.”
“Demon lords don’t need rest.. nevermind. It’s not a joke for this world,” Liliath sulked.

“Come on Lilaith, let’s go.”
“Eh? I don’t get to sleep with Noel anymore?”
“Excuse me?” Wake exclaimed.

“What? It’s inevitable if you stay in a fantasy world together for so long.”

Right.. there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to regain our common sense. I just realized how we shouldn’t have been so open to show Miss Glib the pendrive and all. If somehow the government or the media catches wind of the first people who went to fantasy and back, we’d be screwed.
This is the real world, operating under different laws.

“Good evening Liliath.”
“See you tomorrow then Noel, good evening.”
Everyone returned to their respective rooms. Wake and I made our way to our’s.

“Did you seriously go to a fantasy world?”

“Yes.”
“You’ve changed.”
“Yeah.. I suppose.”
“What happened to you anyways? Did you fight dragons or anything like that?”
“We did see dragons, but we didn’t really fight them. We’ve been pretty passive, as far as our actions were concerned.”
Passive.. we flipped a war on its head. Does that count as passive?

“There's this important question also, did you build a harem?”

“Yes.”
“I see.. what?!”
“Liliath and I will figure out a way to bring her over to this world. Currently, we’re waiting for the next step to arrive.”

“What’s her name?”

“Rin, or her full name is Rinalanashina.”

Wake nodded with an indescribable expression.

It’s not like I intend to get all embarrassed and back down. I’m serious about making the relationship work.
When we reached our room, there were two people which I didn’t recognize. Probably from the other classes, they were playing games on their phones– I forgot those existed.

They gave me weird looks.

“Cosplay?”

“Did something happen?”

“Oh.. this isn’t cosplay, sorry. I’m fine, thank you.”
Right, I’m wearing white ceremonial clothes. Liliath also came wearing a white wedding dress, it’s a gift from His Majesty and Her Majesty. We’ll be wearing this on our wedding day.

“Do I still have my clothes from here?” I checked my bag. Apparently I do.

In any case, I took a shower and changed out of these clothes. Hm.. Liliath will have trouble dealing with her dress huh?

I wanted to ask about it– just to realize the messaging function is gone.

Haah.. so inconvenient.

Coming out of the bath, I texted her.

‘Are you alright? Your dress.’

She replied as soon as I texted.

‘Prune helped me with it, it’s alright.’

‘Glad to hear.’

‘I love you Noel. Good night.’

How long has it been since we exchanged texts on our phones? Smiling wryly to myself I replied.

‘I love you too Liliath. Good night.’

383.

Trip over, we headed back home using the bus.
It’s been a long time and surprisingly, I feel that we, who were thrown into this chaotic mess of isekai, have become somewhat unfamiliar with everyone else.

There’s like this wall between us and the class.

Let’s see. Over at the front we have Kai and Xyasin. Wake and Eunice.

Other friends that my past self had were Saria, Wendy, Qui (the plushie), Voux, the rest are kinda vague.

“Noel.”
“I turned to Liliath who was actively tapping her phone.”
“Have you redownloaded your manga reader?”

Really? That’s what you’re going to ask?

“No.”
“What are you waiting for?”
“Nah.. I’ll just use the websites..”
“Up to you.”
“Long time no see.”
“We met yesterday, Voux.”
“I mean, you said that you went on a 6 month long trip to another world right?”

“We didn’t, who told you that?”
“Really? Then how do you explain your height?”
“It’s inevitable..” Liliath sighed.

Miss Glib actually told us to keep it a secret but.. considering how much everyone has changed, keeping it a secret is.. probably impossible.

I’ve grown at least 10 centimeters during the period of around 9 months.. or a few decades? I don’t even know how old I am anymore.
The passage of time and what I experienced is different from Prune and Nine. So it felt much, much longer.

“So how did you get transported over to that world anyways?”

“Yeah, yeah, I want to know to,” Saria butted in. She was sitting just in front of us. Liliath instinctively reacted by grabbing my arm.

“Liliath, wrong person.”
“Eh, oh.. sorry..”
“Long story short, it’s part of my TALENT. Liliath’s evolution quest or what not.”
“Your’s too. We haven’t completed that one yet,” Liliath retorted.

“And so we went to the fantasy world, and came back knowing that time had barely passed one second.”
It’s been decided by us four that killing ourselves will remain our little secret.

Voux shook his head like he couldn’t believe it.
“So.. what did you two.. or four do over in that world? Were you the heroes?”
“We were Irregulars.”
Liliath nodded, crushing my arms.

Not that it hurts because I’ve become a demon lord in the flesh.

“Did you go to parties? Kill goblins and all?”

Saria continued to throw questions at us. Which made me recall that this Saria is attached to Liliath because she was the one who saved her life.

In Liliath’s Gilgamesh, I was the one who saved Saria using elixir.

It’s a little warped.

“Prune is having it hard too over there,” Liliath prodded.

“Everyone is curious after all.”
Prune was seated in the very front with Miss Glib. Her hair was all over the place, even after she tried tying it into a braid. She’ll definitely have to get a haircut..

Me? I got my haircut in Liliath’s Gilgamesh so I still have some leeway.

As for Nine, since he spent most of his time as a girl, his male avatar, though had long hair. But it didn’t reach the point of cray-cray long.

Miss Glib beckoned me over.
I got up from the seat. The bus had just stopped at a traffic light.

“Anything?”
“After this, follow me. I’ll bring the four of you for a medical checkup.”
“Sure thing.”
“Call the student class 1C too, Nine.”
“Will do.”
“Noel, I’ve told Nine about it already,” Prune said.
“Thanks.”
That small exchange alone too all the attention of the class. Since.. everyone is aware that something had happened.

I gazed out the window.

How nostalgic, to be back again.

I returned to my seat.

Liliath leaned against my shoulders.

“Still no news from Bleu.”
“Yeah..”
We both tried to think of Bleu last night but.. we didn’t get to enter her domain for some reason. I was slightly concerned by it.

Did she disappear along with all the data pertaining to the evolution quest?

I had checked the system services this morning and found that there wasn’t anything here notifying me of a second evolution quest.

Even the old quest board was back in operation– which I hate because of how cluttered the interface looks.

The shop has returned to the limited selection of a few thousand items instead of the millions of items we could buy when we were in the isekai world.

It’s.. as if everything was a dream.

Except it was real.

Because I’m here.

Liliath is here.

Continuing where we left off, our life was still resuming.

“Noel, look.”

As I was deep in thought, Liliath raised her phone and showed me an image. It’s from NIne.

Oh, he– she managed to transfer the data of the pendrive into her– his phone.

This one I liked particularly, me and Liliath holding a makeshift wedding.

“What’s that?! You two got married in the other world?”
“Not yet, it’s just an act.”
“There’s this too,” Liliath began showing Saria and Voux the images we took on the trip.

Most of which were done by Nine. Images of the scenery, wyverns, the people in fantasy clothes, Her Highness Siesta, Miss Margrett, Jennifer, pixies, The Regressor–

A bunch of them.

“It’s a video.”
“Huh, play it.”
Instant regret.

“””...”””

So this was how Prune turned into a Nine Tail? Was that Teal in the background? They seriously messed up the mood.

“Don’t tell Prune about this,” Liliath warned.

Saria and Voux nodded mechanically.

I leaned back against my seat and looked at how the class was sending cursory glances our way. They must be dying to know.

Oh well.

This feels more like it.

The feeling like we’re actually back home.

===

“Nothing wrong with this boy but.. as for the three of them, there were some significant changes to their internal structures,” the doctor diagnoses, pushing four X-ray images out for us to see.

Oh hey, I have a hole in my chest– just kidding. That’s the Philosopher’s stone.

“This here,” the doctor tapped his pen in the center, the white dot in the center of a vast blackness, “Would it be alright if I did further investigations on it?”
“That’s a Philosopher’s stone. If you take it out, I’ll die.”
“What is a Philosopher’s stone?”

We went through a back and forth questioning session with the doctor. The more we answered, the more questions he had. In the end, before any conclusion could be ruled out, our parents arrived at the school medical center.

Yes, Mondai high has a medical center inside the school for students with TALENTs related to healing people.

“Noel, Liliath, Are you alright?” father came in first.

“Mom, dad!” Liliath called out..
“Wrong person.”
“Eh.. whoops.”

“Prune and Nine too..” my mom’s expression contorted.

“It’s alright, uncle, auntie.” Prune said.

“Hello! Long time no see, Mister and Miss Bougainvillea,” Nine greeted.

“Big brother Noel, big sister Liliath, are you alright?” and last was.. Novelle.

Prune’s parents and Nine’s parents had also been contacted, but they hadn’t arrived yet.

“We’re alright.”

“Right now I think he should consider getting further tests done on..” the doctor elaborated to my parents.
“You’ve grown so tall. What happened?”

“We went isekai.”
“Ise-kai?” Novelle expression blanked out.

Liliath tousled Novelle’s hair.

“Hey..”
“She’s just like the Novelle in the other world.”
“I know right..”

There’s still a number of years before she’ll begin to look like the goddess.
“What do you mean other world? I had a doppelganger?”
Sure did.

It didn’t take long before Prune’s parents arrived on site. Nine was dismissed early, and it wasn’t like his parents would like a happy reunion so he’ll meet them with Miss Glib doing the explanation.

The decision that came to after heavy consultation with the doctor was that we’ll be taking a full-body examination. Which means a blood test, urine test and CT-scan.

It was done immediately.

Though.. even after the tests, there were still concerns that the Philosopher’s stone could cause obstruction to the heart and what not.. so Liliath crushed a pen.

Not by folding it in half.

But rather.. genuinely crushed in between her fingers.

I did the same.

Two of the doctor’s pens were gone.

Explanation done.

Furthermore, we did magic. I created a meager ball of water, Lilitah created a dancing figure of Bleu, and Prune generated a light orb after much difficulty.

With that, we screwed up.

Results of the finding will be reported to the higher ups. Magic will now become a new field of research, Liliath, Prune, Nine and I will earn the attention of the mass media..

Or not.

We were dismissed from the doctor without being suspected or queried of any of that bullshit. All he said was to come back for a follow up next weeks. Since we were going to be at school during that time, the follow up wouldn’t be a problem.

Huh.. surprise surprise..

“The effect works here too,” Liliath said.

“Fortunately.”
If anyone had forgotten, my TALENT has the ability to in a sense.. distort reality. Even if I do something flashy that could ultimately change the world, like just now when we demonstrated magic, it wouldn’t really register in a person’s mind.

The same goes for our parents. They, acted as if amazed when they saw magic.. but didn’t talk about it at all afterwards.
Also part of the effect I think was that Miss Glib stopped asking us about what happened during the isekai and just told us to take a checkup.

Even Saria and Voux who were curious, didn’t get to the meat of things– as if they were just talking about last night’s movie.

We made it past the bridge.

We gazed upon the apartment complex.

“We’re back,” Prune said, holding down her hair. It was windy, this pleasant breeze.

“Sure are.”
Both families made their way to the chicken fast food restaurant on the ground floor. Nine also joined up with us. He had apparently already made his way into the apartment. It seemed nothing had changed since we left it, he said.

Even if he put it that way, we might not remember how exactly our old apartment looked. We might need to do some cleaning when we get back. The auto cleaning function isn’t a thing anymore.

“So what happened?” Prune’s father.. I forgot his name, asked.

“We went to another world together.. and I got into some incidents that changed my hair.”
“Your eyes too.”
“Really?” Prune eye’s could alternate between gold and blue, even now– some people might find that creepy.

So in the middle of chicken drizzled with sauce and basket of fries, we told our story.

“Oh my god.. it’s been so long..” Nine stared at the chicken he took a bite out of.

“Modern world food tastes so much better than those in the fantasy world..”
I will have to agree with Prune.. I get that we’ve been saying how amazing food tastes that you can’t stop stuffing your mouth, but now that we have something to compare that too, I realized that.. the amazing food the fantasy world was– how should I put it– it tasted somewhat artificial.

It’s different from these tiny chicken drumsticks where the flavors feel ‘real’.

“This here is my parents,” Liliath showed my parents pictures of His Majesty and Her Majesty.

We also showed them images we took of the various places.

As expected, they were amazed, but the reactions were subdued, as if suppressed by some unknown force.

I have no complaints.. it just feels a little off.

Well..

Maybe I’m just trying to deny that fact that it’s not my TALENT causing this distortion, but that this distortion is just a rule of this.. story world I live in.

“Mister Daniel.. miss Diana.. there’s also something not included here, in these pictures..” Liaith drawled.

“And that is?”
“I know that you’re Noel’s parents.. though.. you were once my parents too so.. is it alright if I called you mom and dad? I miss my other parents and.. you’re them.”

“I’m not getting what you’re trying to say, could you repeat?” My mom was struggling to make sense of it. Liliath was being a little too rushed.

“Uh.. where should I even start..”
“Mom, father. Liliath was your daughter in a third world. This here is.. Liliath Bougainvillea combined with and Liliath Toren.”

“It’s so complex, just.. allow me to call you mom and dad, please?”
“Um.. if you’re alright with that? Then sure,” Father said– and kicked my leg under the table. What?

“We could consider adopting Liliath couldn’t we?” My mom said.

“Yay! I have an elder sister!” Novelle cheered.

LIlaith smiled.

Yeah.. the truth is, you’ve always had an elder sister, Novelle.

“Novelle, I..”

“Hm?”
“No, nothing.”

No. Perhaps it’s not the time yet. We’ll just have to keep a lookout on her. Who knows what kind of TALENT she’ll develop.

Bleu herself said that our TALENTS interact with each other.

“Noel, are you going to tell them about Rin?” Nine said in between fries.

“Who’s Rin?” Novelle asked.

“Noel’s second wife,” Liliath told it straight, grabbing the soda and drinking it through the straw.

At those words, it was as if time itself had stopped.

“Excuse me?” my mom was the first to exclaim.
“Noel, you actually.. where is she?” father kicked me under the table again.

“Dunno. We’ll bring her back some day..” I said.. sheepishly.

“It’s alright, mom, dad, we’ve already agreed to it. I don’t mind since.. I’ll be living with Noel for a few centuries at least, I have all the time in the world and I believe there wouldn’t be any issues sharing that time with another person,” Liliath tried to placate my mom and father in her own words.

“Prune, did you find someone in that world too?” Prune’s mother, who heard such a ridiculous news from Lilaith’s mouth, asked Prune.

Prune shook her head with a bitter smile.

I turned to Nine giving him a silent stare. He just nodded.
Yeah.. you better not ruin Prune’s dignity.

“Having a second wife is not allowed by law in Gilgamesh, you two do understand that right?”

“Noel, I know I may not be right in saying this, however, you have to take responsibility for your decision.”
“I know. I’ve thought about it..”

“No, you haven’t. You’re still young, so there’s a lot you don’t know.”
“Mom.. dad..” Liliath pouted.

“No.. we shouldn’t dictate your life..” father sighed.

My mom pressed her finger to her forehead.

Novelle had no comments, not knowing what exactly to say.

Yeah.. we’ve probably gotten ourselves into some trouble..
